356.12(1) says it's not to be used where subject to physical damage, so you might not even be able to use it at all, let alone sleeve it.
How would it be subject to damage if it was sleeved?
If you're sleeving it all the way into the box, use EMT or rigid.

Placing a U shaped metal cover over it if additional protection is needed where it enters/exits grade may be simpler/less cost then converting it/replacing it to RMC/IMC.What would be an example of where this would be a good idea? If the carflex needs physical protection where it enters or exits the ground doesn't that just make the work more difficult?
