I am building a room addition with concrete walls furred out with 3/4" foam insulation and have installed the B108B boxes due to the depth without breaking the concrete for the outlets. I have ran 12/2 wire for all the electric outlets and have noticed the box is only 8cu. in. after installing them and running wire. and per the NEC calculation the wires total 11.25 cu. in. Has anyone used these boxes before?? I'd appreciate any help I can get.

This the box? What kind of help are you looking for? You either need to change the box or the way you wired the room...

You are best off trying to find a shallow 1900 box with cover and routing your 12 AWG cable so as to minimize the number of conductors per box. or, you are going to do some chopping.
I notice you are a low voltage guy. Are you prepared to properly install line voltage work in your own house, where your family lives???

It's done every day, thanks to home improvement stores... "You can do it! and we can help!"

WM is your friend in this situation.

I agree. It will look absolutely horrible, but it may be the only cheap solution to make this code compliant.

Wow..12/2 in an 8 cubic inch box...just the sound of that makes me nauseous.

:D

Yeah if it was not for the big box stores no one would ever do there own work. :D

I see a lot of members upset about DIYs but I really want to know if they all hire plumbers, carpenters, landscapers, painters, roofers for every repair or install done in their own home.

Assuming I just spent big bucks to get my basement finished, and that is the final result, then yeah, it looks horrible.

Now if we are talking about an apartment, then who cares?

OK....humor the new guy here (me)

2 12's = 4.5 plus 1 for the ground and 2 for the device = 7.5

Isn't there .5 left?

H 2.25
N 2.25
G 2.25
Device (2*2.25) = 4.5

Total 11.25
