Cass 1 Div 1 Flexable cords

When using a flexible cord in a Class 1 Div 1 location is SOOW sufficient to use on a 480v 3 p xp motor connection?
If so what type of cord grip is required and is a seal off required between the motor the cord grip?

Have you read Section 501.140 carefully; especially 501.140(B)?

• Is Type SOOW listed for "extra-hard usage "?
• Does it contain an EGC complying with Section 400.23
• Will there be tension on the terminal connections? [If you comply with Section 501.140(B)(3), you should be OK]
• We'll, do you comply with Section 501.140(B)(3)? That is, is the motor required to be explosionproof? [See Section 501.125(A)]
