Cast vs. Meyers fittings

A cast hub is threaded into the box when it's manufactured such as an FS box. A Myers hub is designed to go into a knockout in a box or piece of equipment.

Cast hubs are cast into the enclosure and meyers hubs are designed to make a drilled in hole in a box watertight with a threaded hub.

In the OP perhaps the "cast hub" is referring to the threaded hubs with 4 screws to mount them to the top of a disconnect or outdoor panelboard.
...just an assumption on my part:wink:

I would say the two pictures in post #2 are a "Meyers hub" and a cast junction box not a "cast hub."

I believe most all hubs are cast (i.e. die cast), with some partially machined, and few that seem to be entirely machined.

IMO, Myers hub refers to a hub connector, and the ones cast into the box or condulet are integral hubs. The fittings that use four machine screws to secure them to the box are, to me, hub adapters.
