catheterization lab - isolated ground receptacles (517.16)

Medical equipment vendor is calling for IG receptacles in the lab for some of auxiliary connections. I consider a cath lab to be a patient care area or vicinity. Can anyone think of a reason 517.16 should not apply?

You are correct 517.16 does apply and whoever purchased the equipment can take it up with the vendor. There are some changes to 517.16 in the 2017 that might allow some IG receptacles but unless the area has adopted it IG receptacles are out.
