Hi There

I would need some help to size a CB for a Supanel.

What I understand is that if you have a MLO Panel Box rated 125 A you should
hook it up with a 125A feeder from a 125 A CB at the panel which feed the first one.

A question arise to me and it is if I just need to load the 125 A panel with 60A (Connected load), which would be the feeder and the CB from the first panel.

I am discussing that with other people and my opinion is that you should size (despite have a connected load of 60A ) with 125 A feeder and 125 amp CB.
Is that correct or Am I wrong ?

Thank you very much for some help.

You only need size the breaker and feeder to serve the intended load.

Just remember this will limit future additional loads to the sub-panel.

The minimum feeder size is determined by a load calculation. If you want the minimum you can simply use that number. Nothing says you can't use a larger feeder.
