1) Is a grounded conductor from a 3 phase 4 wire generator (Not Seperatly erived) a current carrying conductor?

2) Is it permissible to leave the OCPD of the generator w/ 600KCM and parallel these to 4/0 inside the building? The OCPD that comes with the generator has only single lugs and the transfer switch is located in an area where it would be easier to use a smaller conduit.

1) The grounded conductor is only counted as a current carrying conductor if the majority of the load is non-linear.
2) Assuming that both the 600kcmil and the parallel 4/0s have an ampacity of at least 115% of the generator nameplate rating if there is no OCPD between the conductors and the generator, or if there is an OCPD, then they must have an ampacity equal to or greater than the rating of the OCPD.

Thanks Don

The generator does have a 400 amp OCPD installed with it so I don't believe I have to rate the conductors at 115%, Although it took me a while to figure exactly what that section was saying.
