We currently use FRS-R fuses to protect our fan motors. These fuses are very large in size(6 inches) and take up a lot of real-estate in our control panels. I feel like we could use CCMR fuse’s in place of the FRS-R fuses to protect fan motors. I’m having a hard time finding anything definitive in the NEC 2014 code book that says one way or the other. Can anyone confirm or deny that CCMR fuses can be used for short circuit protection on a condenser fan motor, and possibly point me in the direction of the section of the NEC 2014 code where it explains this.

CCMR is a class CC fuse. It is perfectly fine for use with motors.

I would caution that using the fuses rated above 30A in this series is a dubious proposition as UL only lists them up to 30A.
