Do I need to ground the steel pole that a CCTV camera is going to be mounted on? If so what is the best way?

Generally, the EGC of the circuit supplying the power, a.k.a. the source likely to energize the pole, is all you need. If the supply will be only low voltage, I don't believe there is a grounding requirement. If the pole is set in concrete in the earth, it's grounded.Rich McMillen said:
