I'm starting a new contract soon and my general contractor wants to use CE listed materials. Not all but some! I've used them before but in small quantities, are there any guidelines that I need to follow when checking them out against UL? Will I potentially hurt myself by rework if I use some CE listed materials instead of UL? I know that UL is not the only one but I just want to be sure before I give him the green light to purchase the material. Thanks for the help.

Re: CE listings

CE means nothing (in the US).
Its not an approved listing to use in the US. I suspec if you go to the UL website you can find out what the CE is and what it is not.

Re: CE listings

It is no problem to build your whole site with CSA approved products as long as the have the proper mark.

CSA is a NRTL and will test products with the US standards and mark it with the US marking. Check out their web site for more information.
