Ceiling fan duty rated boxes.

I have had inspectors enforce using a ceiling fan rated box for other than habitable rooms locations if it is likely that a pendant type hanging or chandilier fixture might be hung in that location. Other inspectors have said that as long as the box is rated for the weight of the fixure, it does not need to be fan rated. Curiously, I saw an add in a Menards flyer showng ceiling fan boxes sold as rated "to satisfy ceiling fan and chandelier hanging fixture code". I didn't know such an application of ceiling fan boxes needed for chandelier fixtures existed in the NEC, or the Wisconsin interpretation adoption of NEC.
