I have an insteon dimmer keypad. If you are unfamiliar, it is a keypad with 8 different keys. Each runs different lights and can be programmed to do different things. I have a ceiling fan that I am replacing. It is setup that the fan is powered on all the time. I just have to pull the chain to turn it on and set speeds. The light turns on and off with the keypad on the wall. It is a dimmer and has a slower ramp rate when it turns on.
I just bought a new fan with remote control, but it is not going to work. It says it needs to have a switch that is not a dimmer switch. I don't know if there is a ceiling fan with remote that can bypass the fan control and have constant power to the fan out there. If there is one, I can't seem to find it. It looks like the old pull chain is the only way to go. Shoot.
