Depends on the brand (i.e., $$$). I have some Hunters that are 12 years old.

I agree; our 4 cheap ones lasted 2 years (bearings), replaced with hunters and they seem as good as new now 21 years into their life on cathedral ceiling in loghome's greatroom, running probably 80% of the time winter/summer.

I have a real cheap one that is at least 20 years old and been running continuously (on low) for about 12 years ........ really. No one is more surprised than I.

Our house was built in 1999. other than when the power was out, 2 upstairs have never been off. Harbor Breeze, on low.

I bought a cheap one about 20 yrs ago when a Lowe's was closing out and moving to a new store. It runs about 95% of the time, and still going!
