Ceiling fans and fixed lights

Are ceiling fans and fixed light required to be on an AFCI circuit? Anything else, I know the bedroom and smoke detectors have to be.

Yes if the fan and light are in a bedroom.

In a previous thread it was said that the switch in a bedroom didnt have to be afci protected since it was not the point of utilization(think this was in a closet) but in order to afci a light or fan in a bedroom then swich has to be also.
