Noooooo.... But there are lists that the manufactures of known conflicts/problems with certain equipment like fans, vaccuum cleaners, and LCD screens that will not work on thier AFCI's.

Found this out the hard way a few times. On a few occassions I had to get newer lot number breakers, a few of them they had to get new stuff...

Is there any harm in putting ceiling fans on arc fault ckts?

There is no harm. At one time certain brand breakers had trouble with some fans but I believe the newer generation breakers have that under control.

Just for your info, you can also use a GFCI recep. on the same circuit as an arc fault.

Which manufac. s have the list?
The AFCI people or the "certain equipment" people?

the old "blue button" square D afci's gave us problems w/ fans, sometimes. green button are no problem.

The "Blue Button" Sq D AFCI's were recalled and replaced by the green. Guess what color I have in my house?

it was interesting to me that the press releases about this never mentioned the name square D, only schneider electric. homeowners wouldn't know the difference, and i'm certain that was the reason why. i was still working for another company when the recall came out, and they never had us replace any of them. i remember getting a form at the supply house saying schneider would pay the labor to do the changeovers. i thought the company i was at wasted an opportunity there, being we weren't extremely busy. did anyone replace them? if so did you get a check from schneider??
