Ceiling Fans

The code covers requirements for ceiling fan locations over pools, spas, and near bath and shower areas, but it doesn't specify general installation heights. With the inherent danger of blade contact, why has the code left this out?

Ceiling height clearances, incl. all projections from ceilings are well covered by Building Codes, e.g., UBC, IBC, NBC, etc. I can't speak to NEC intent on this matter......but can say it's well covered elsewhere in the Building Codes.
