Not sure I've ever seen this Existing insulation to remain? How they heck am I support to run my MC cable and/or conduits? And there is an existing joist?

Push the insulation up a few inches and drill a hole in the joist.

Use 3/4” spade bit to drill out a notch under each joist. Start drilling at 45 degrees center of joist. Easy to patch.
Or use a large hole (6”,8”)saw with dust guard to make holes. Save Sheetrock for reinstalling.

I cannot read any specs. Is the existing ceiling to be removed? If not, why any reference to insulation?
