Probably the same tool that broke the wire.

What is the point in locating the break?
My understanding is that the wire is not repairable.

You can use a Tic Tracer. Do a google search and you'll find plenty of options. Most electrical wholesale suppliers have them as well.

That is also my take on ceiling heat.
