Cement block wall with 7/8 metal furring straps secured to it

I have to dress an MC cable down a block wall through a 7/8 furring strip and to an outlet. Will a nail plate at where the MC passes through the stud be adequate....or should the MC change to pipe coming down the block wall?

Yes a nail plate would work. If you keep the cable 1.25" away from the furring strip no protection required.
