the engineering, installation, and acceptance test flavors of all these documents
have been updated at varying times over the last six months or so, it seem.
i just got a phone call from one of my customers, who found six of his
jobs got turned down in the SF area last week, due to being done on older forms.
this includes the documents prepared by the engineer of record. San Francisco
rejected them all, and made the general get the drawings updated, and all the
field certifications updated as well, and then the drawings had to be re approved
by plan check.
the contractor was thrilled with all of this, to say the least.
as for the acceptance test forms, the ones on the website are no longer
acceptable, and you must use the computer generated ones made by a
registered acceptance test technician.
turns out, people are using the old, handwritten forms, and counterfeiting
the certificates. aside from getting your license revoked, if you are in fact
certified, and doing this, it also leaves the customer with a worthless piece
of paper in the event of an audit.
welcome to california. please submit your paperwork that says you have
a right to be here...
