I live in California right now, but may have to move to Florida. Can anyone help me out with information about Florida's journeyman certification program and if having California certification qualifies me to work in Florida?

Florida currently has no Journeyman certification other than what SOME counties have in place but there is a bill working on that I believe. Just show up and someone will put you to work (if it's available!)

Florida journeyman (for the counties that have one)is by county, so where you are moving makes a big difference. Not a current requirement to have a license to work (scheduled to change in July??).

I have a city of Tallahassee journeymens license, and from what I've been told it works everywhere in Florida except the COUNTRY (not county) of Dade county. (Miami)

If you work for an EC you do not need a jouneryman license.
If you work for an ER, you have to abide by the county laws they are set up in, which in general means, you have to have that counties jouneryman issued license.
Do yourself a favor and stay out of Miami-Dade.
