CF lamps will be a thing of the past once LED lights become cheaper. Just another fad that people will grow to hate.
 
And - I haven't dealt with too many people who really enjoyed their LED lighting past that fact that they now had an inferior light source that used so little energy to make them feel better about the crappy light output.

That said a metal halide lamp is more difficult to break, about equal in life, better color rendering and IMO is a decent compromise for lumen to watt comparision. :grin: If they made them in lower wattages and developed an instant start and some dimming capabilities they would be easier to sell than CFL...

Yeah hint hint.,,,

Car headlight some of them used the HID headlight dang they come on pretty fast less than few seconds to full brightness even in very cold weather. but sooner or later they will adapet it to home/ commercal useage.
