I believe they did. I can't remember by whom. Do a search for Challenger breakers, I'm sure you'll find a list of threads dealing with the buyout.

Challenger, Westinghouse, and Bryant are now Cutler Hammer.

Cutler Hammer breakers are listed as suitable replacements for those panelboards.

If you look closely at a modern CH "BR" style breaker, you will see that is has two part numbers on it. For instance, a BR120 is also a C120, the "C" standing for Challenger.

Before Cutler Hammer launched the BR line, the Challenger panels said "Cutler Hammer Challenger" right on them. The replacement is Cutler Hammer BR.

Bit of history, Zinsco became Sylvania, which later became Challenger*, Westinghouse bought Challenger ,later Eaton (Cutler-Hammer's parent co.) bought the Westinghouse line and combined them w/ C-H, they did sell the Challenger line and Westinghouse's safety switch line to Thomas & Betts, after that its murky, T&B had their "classified" breaker line then it up and went away( T&B also got the rights to the Zinsco name too).

* At some point Challenger bought FPE but do not know where it went after that.
