If a section of wiremold (SMR) runs on a wall, to the corner, and into the perpendicular wall cavity, can fittings be added - inside the new wall cavity (i.e. concealed) - to change over to NM-B? The NM-B, with or without the jacket, would be installed in the SMR for a short distance on a bedroom wall to get to a receptacle in a SMR box. This would be similar to an EMT changeover connector you might use. Can these be concealed?

SMR fitting would be a wiremold 5782, with a NM-B connector screwed into it.

Thanks.

I have done that many times and I don't see an issue with it. I am assuming the nm is slid into the wiremold also. What I usually do is take the back out of the wiremold and just cover the nm with the top part

If this is the usual 500/700 series stuff i would use wiremold part# v5785, get a nm connector, pull and strip off the jacket and run it down the raceway. That way both ends of the race way has a ground screw to hit.

300.15 (C) has a good point. About how even a race way used only as a chase for support and/or protection from physical damage. A fitting shall be provided on the end(s) of the raceway to protect the cable from abrasion.
