My company produces wireless pressure transducers. We have them encased in an explosion proof housing. My problem is that the transducers last longer than the internal battery. Is there some way that we could make the battery changealbe, without needing to uninstall the transducer?

Many thanks,

Greg

The method of changing the battery is designed by you, the manufacturer.

The wireless transducers we use instruct the user to "power down" the transducer in order to change the battery. I have also seen others that instruct the user to check for hazardous atmosphere before opening the housing to change the battery. Since a typical battery lasts 4-5 years, this should not considered as an inconvienence.

In either case, clear warnings and/or instructions should be placed on the transducer housing, along with the make and model of the battery if a specific battery is required in order to maintain the unit's intrinsic safety rating if it has one.
