We have a small subpanel in a location where it is difficult to establish proper working space (installed before my time). It wouldn't be all that difficult to use the existing conduit to power the circuits from breakers in the main panel, gut the subpanel, and just put a blank cover over it. We really only need 4 single phase 20 amp circuits, and the main panel has the room for additional breakers.
Will the former subpanel need working space? Or can a movable table be left there on a permanent basis?
