In Chapter 9 Tables, the NEC refers to "Compact Conductors" in Table 5A. How do compact conductors differ from conductors?

Glenn compact stranding is the result of a manufacturing process where the standard conductor is compressed to the extent that the voids between strand wires are eliminated
