Cheaper for Parallel? Series?

Someone said to me that its cheaper on electricity bills to have certain circuits wired in Series than it is in Parallel...? (by a Plumber nonetheless)
I`m not conivinced but i thought i would ask for the opinoins of others..

Your plumber needs to stick to the subject of excrement removal, and not delve into subjects he has little knowledge of!

Can you give an example of separate loads that would be allowed by the NEC to be wired in series?

On the other hand, if you wired all your lights in series, it would certainly save on the elctric bills. This seems to hold for most of your loads.
