I was asked to check the integraty of our grounds in the plant. People look at the bare ground wire attched to building steel and want to know if it is a good ground.
How would one go about checking the ground on the building steel when the ground wire is there and when its not there? Is there a test procedure to check it?
Thank you

do some research on the procedures for determining how adequate the grounding system is (in terms of engineering)

this link might give you a start (?)

just be advised that electricians commonly install 2 grounds to comply with the NEC and alleviate any real consideration of how effective the grounding really is (grounding is a hard to understand kinda thing in many respects)

What "grounds" are you actually checking? The GEC's going to the grounding electrode system? Or are you checking equipment grounding conductors?
