I was at a Hospital (all day) and was becoming a Grandpa at just about the time everything went out. My house just came back on about 9:30.

Did you lose power where you were?

Lots of rumours in the early stages. I don't think a ConEd fire was accurate. But it amazes me that the grid is allowed to cascade like this.

Bill: Congratulations.
I was in San Fransicso vacationing when this occurred and am quite surprised that there is not more talk about it on this forum. Last I saw they were claiming "over-use", is that still the thought from the power Gods?
