Re: Check your Fluke Leads

Although I didn't find any of my leads to be affected by the recall, I appreciate the heads up. Thanks!

I get the Seattle Times and the King County Journal (a local paper) on a daily basis. In this morning's editions, both newspapers carried an article on the Fluke recall.

Re: Check your Fluke Leads

I guess the idea behind testing you tester is not so unreasonable.

I own a Fluke 12 Multimeter. As the battery begins to die, the voltage reading starts to creep up. It has got as high as 160-volts to ground on a nominal 120-volt system. The first time it did this to me, I had the POCO out to a service call and it was a big embarassing mess.

Maybe we should go back to licking our fingers and tapping the conductor as one of my old instructors told me they used to do.
