Cheetah Speed System

There are a couple of EC's in my area that swear by Cheetah. I have never installed any, but the devices that I have seen seem to be comparable to standard devices. They are more money per unit but the company claims that you will make up for the extra cost with labor savings.

I think the name stinks ,...too much like "cheater" they may as well have called them "crappy" whether they are or not , that's the effect the name had on me anyway.

What a surprise! People are trashing a product they've never even used!! Are you guys just jealous because you didn't think of this first?

I think they system looks pretty neat. I don't do many new homes so I can't really see where the savings would be, but if I did I would give it a try. I can definitely see the savings for the high volume residential guy.

I recently attended the Electric Expo 2007 in Philadelphia. Cheetah had a booth there, and I think they promised to send me a free house worth of products for evaluation.

I have not seen anything as of yet (this was only the middle of last week), but I'll keep you posted if and when anything shows up.

Has anyone used the Cheetah Speed System device boxes and devices that snap into the box? What are the pros and cons?
I guess one of the cons is that the switches can't be grounded and violate 404.9(B). If your AHJ holds you to that, you could have a very unhappy day.

i've never used it, but i have seen it in person. i'm not saying it won't work properly, but its made out of very cheap material, not to mention it looks like poo. i wouldn't have it in my own home.
