How many in here have ever used chemical ground on a grounding electrode or as we call it ground rod. I have priced chemical ground before, for a city water project and about 5 years ago they were $750 apiece.

They are not cheap. Depending on the installation site, they require maintenance as well.

If this is being speced, there are other "enhanced" ground rods available today that do not require the constant maintenance, you should talk to the specifier and ask what they are trying to acheive with the grounding electrode system.

I have used hundreds of them. What is it you want to know? They are special purpose items to be used in facilities requiring a low electrode impedance, or in areas where soil conductivity is very poor. Although they are expensive to purchase and install, they can be very cost effective under the right circumstances
