Possible exposure includes, but not limited to:

PVC solvent glue
Antioxident compounds
Conduit sealing compounds
Lubricant/cleaner spay
Lithium Grease
Other trade chemicals
Particular facility chemicals
fiberglass insulation

The list goes on and on, but as you can see is somewhat minimal in total health risk. Every job site is required to have a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) that lists all possible chemical and material exposures. Obviously specialized jobs may have other significant chemical exposures.

Watch out for Uranium Dust, it has low ignition temperatures! :p (500.6(B)(1)(FPN)

Take note of Bryans reference to the MSDS's. These are required and you have a right to see them at you request, as a matter of fact, the powers that be, must inform you as to where these are at all times. One chemical compound that wont be in the MSDS is human blood. This is one that doesn't have to be listed. Even if someone does have a disease, the privacy act keeps "you" in the dark.
