Chicago LV wiring

In Chicago (code), can you run LV wiring in open ceilings areas or should it be in raceway?

It will all need to be in conduit. And for reasons that I have never understood, you can use seal-tite in plenum ceilings even though it isn't plenum rated.

I thought that they required flexible metal tubing in a plenum ceiling.

This being Chicago, I thought that they required LV wiring to be installed in a separate house. :angel:

One manufacturer told me that about the only place they sell flexible metal tubing is the Chicago area.

Are you referring to plen-flex? Yes they allow that, but most contractors use and the city allows seal-tite. It has always troubled me.
