I started doing residential remodeling in Chicago about 30 years ago and did pretty well.
I don't go after residential anymore, however I grudgingly take them if I get my arm twisted and have a commercial or industrial reason to do so.
But:
-if you are aware of the risks of unit pricing
-if the work is not more than 2,000 sq ft or so
-if you know the code
-if you know the trade
-if the general knows what he's doing
-if you get paid on time
-if you hustle
-if the qty of openings is basically per code
-wood stud
-fixtures, lamps, or trims provided by others.
=$125 (+/- 20%) an opening would get you close.
I'll give you some free advice, watch out for 'old work' ie. revisions to existing openings with black grc pipe, short radius bends, with 2-wire circuits. Unit pricing will never work, don't get trapped. T&M only.
