Tony I have gone on calls gfci tripping only to find 15,000 bulbs on a 15a wp circuit.But they ask why can`t I put what ever on that 8 plex extension that says I can plug up to 8 cords into it

We have had several calls this week about circuits tripping out with excessive Christmas lights. On one such call I measured 28.7 Amps!
The last call was yesterday, and the lady was not home, so we could not complete the service. But, we observed multiple 3-way cords plugged in, 4 different cords coming out of the front windows, and numerous other octopus connections, all wrapped with duct tape!
Soon as it rained, that duct tape traps moisture in those multi-tap plugs, not to mention the shock hazard of using tape with a conductive outer layer on it ..
