Does anybody have any suggestions on how to have an entire panel dedicated for Christmas lights be controlled by one timer.

I'm thinking just 103 pole contactor with 120 volt coil that's hooked up to a timer anybody else done this before I have any suggestions

I think some kind of timer controlled contactor is about as easy as you can get.

However, it means you have to put all your Christmas lights on the same set of branch circuits which might not be all that convenient.

Can you elaborate? Why couldn't I just get say a 3 pole contractor to feed a MLO panel with standard branch breakers?

Forget to mention that we will be installing new branches off this panel for lights

If entire panel is only for lighting and desire is to shut it all down with one switch a contactor that can handle at least rate of main feeder breaker. Timer controls the contactor. Done all the time for commercial lighting panel so one switch can turn off the whole thing.

What's your budget? These new Leviton panels allow for remote breaker control.

Funny you mention this. The original design of these would only allow you to turn off a breaker remotely-but not ON which I always thought was just dumb. But I see now you can do off and on with the latest generation.

This might be a little overkill, but there's a manufacturer out there Making load centers now called Span and they make a panel that actually monitors each individual breaker and you keep track of the consumption on each breaker. There's an app for it that goes to your phone. And you can control each individual breaker or all of them at 1 time. It's a very good panel for home monitoring your electrical usage. They claim that you can even identify high usage items on a circuit and determine what that item is based on a analysis that they have generated. So, for instance, span panel can tell on a circuit For instance, breaker #12 has an excessive use on it, and it can measure somehow the usage and compare to charts they have, For instance, it's a 20 amp plugged in portable heater that has been left on. And it can let you know and you have the ability wherever you are to shut that circuit down via your telephone. Anyway, it's a very nice panel. I plan on using it some day, It's called Span. You guys should check it out.

This is going in a commercial space in a church a bit overkill for the siltation
