Church wired with nm or nmc
What are your thoughts ?
Electrician says no firewalls in the new structure . He did wire it in romex .
It's 40 x 60 wood frame no benches .
Standing worship .

How many people does it seat. If it is a "place of assembly" (100 persons or more) then you will have to wire it accordingly.

518.4(B) which Bryan mentioned, allows NM to be used in assembly occupancies not required to be of fire-rated construction. I don't know what building code applies where you are, but under the IBC, a church would be classified as an A-3 occupancy. You mention wood framing. Under the IBC an A-3 occupancy of type V-B (nonrated wood frame) construction is allowed to be up to 6,000 square feet. Unless there are other circumstances not mentioned, I would say NM is allowed in the case you mention under the IBC.
