Circuit breaker settings confusion and its label. The label says 400A rated continuous current but the settings says otherwise

Hello all, i was hoping someone can help with these breaker settings i have. I'm a little confused and i suspect it is labeled incorrectly.

I have a WestingHouse breaker DS-416
Frame: 1600Amp
Rated continuous current 400A (Somebody marked it with a marker on its coverplate) which i suspect is wrong.
The settings the computer spits out is below and this is what it is operating at:
  • Frame: 1600A
  • Ct Rating 800A
  • LT Pick-Up 600A
  • LT Delay 4.05
  • ST Pick-Up 2400A
  • ST Delay .205
  • I Pick-Up 4800A

My question is: isn't this breaker sensor setting trips at 600A and not what somebody labeled on it as Rated continuous current 400A? or am i misunderstanding this.

Thank you,

LT Pickup is the handle rating, or the breaker trip rating. For continuous current, if the breaker is insulated case or molded case (or otherwise not 100% rated), then continuous current would be 80% of 600A (or 480A)
The old DS breaker was 100% rated when installed in switchgear.
The rating would be the LT setting, 600A in this case.

Most of these breakers were drawout style so it was not uncommon for breakers to be installed in different locations after they were removed for service. Many companies wrote the desired settings in the breaker doors to make sure the proper settings were put into whichever breaker was finally installed. In some cases breakers were upgraded and the cell information was never updated.

You need to investigate this discrepancy.
