Can #8 copper conductors be used with a 30a 2p breaker to adjust for IR loss?

Not sure I understand the question. Are you asking if it is acceptable to use a larger conductor, or are you asking if a #8 will fit into the slots in the breaker? Also, are you asking about heating (I2R losses) or are you asking about voltage drop?
