Circuits passing thru Patient care Area

Do the requirements of 517 extend to the area above the ceiling for circuits feeding the required receptacle of a rooftop unit? After reading 517 I would say no. I'm just going by the definition of Patient Care Area(and related info in 517) and haven't been able to find where this is addressed in 517.

I believe any circuit that is not intended to serve the patient care area is not required to meet the requirements of 517 part II per 517.10(B)(1). :)
