I'm confused by the wording of Art 250.66 (A), Connections to Rod/Pipe/Plate Electrodes.
The wording that I seek clarification on is in emphasis.
"Where the GEC is connected to( rod/pipe/plate) electrodes THAT PORTION OF THE (Grounding Electode) CONDUCTOR that is the sole (only?) connection to the electrode(is not required) to be larger than #6."
If a rod/pipe/plate electrode is installed as a "Supplementary" electrode, a #6 Bonding-Jumper connection between the electrode and a larger GEC that connects to the "Primary" Grounding-Electrode would seem to be the most practical type of conection.
