clarification of when to have disconnect or not

I have 20 pc.s of woodcarving equip. to hook-up,all or most have s.o cord attached ,certain pc.s will require fused disco's due to ratings inbetween breaker values. If the equip.has a means to disconnnect and the panel is within sight, would there be any cause not to hardwire the circuit, or cord cap with twist locks within certain ampacity constraints? The largest piece of equipment has an ampacity of 125 amps, although it has acontroller that would disconnect power ,a safety switch will be installed in this application

your cord cap is a disconnecting means. as long as cord is rated for the correct amps you should be ok

Be careful when hooking up machines with rotating parts that could grab someone as OSHA has rules for deadman switch's and safty switch's that allow for the quick disconnection of power in the event someone were to get caught in the machine. They might already be on the equipment and not needed. but I just thought I'd let you know.
