Clarification on 210.11(C)(3)

If I have 3 bathrooms and want 1 receptacle in each bathroom, am I allowed to use one 20A BC for all three? Putting the inconvenience of having to go to the first bathroom to reset a GFCI aside, is this allowed or would I need 3 separate BC's?

You can do it with one circuit. But that circuit cannot supply anything other than receptacle outlets, and only bathroom receptacle outlets at that. Your other choice is to supply everything in a single bathroom (receptacles, fan, light, etc.) with one circuit, but that circuit cannot supply anything outside that one bathroom.

How's this....
1 ckt, to feed all 3 locations,
1 GFCI device at each location... no lights or other loads.
No inconvenience ~ unless, of course, all 3 bathrooms are occupied by teenage girls and their assortment of blower dryers and curling irons all going full blast.

If I have a walk-in closet (6'1" x 5'10") am I required to install receptacles on those walls? I would say no, but I'm not sure. Anyone have an Art. handy that may deal with this?

Many ppl do like a recpt. or two in a walk-in closet for charging phones, PDAs, etc....but not a requirement.
 
Thanks. :wink: 210.52 was the first placed I turned to but I didn't see any mention of closet space.

Since 210.52(1-4) doesn't apply and 210.52(A) "similar room or area" doesn't apply, I guess your not required to have them in closets....

Trying to learn all this but the NEC leaves a lot to be interpreted....

Oi... So does that also mean that 210.70(A)(1) says I don't need a light in a closet either?

I guess a closet could be considered under 210.70(A)(3) but it doesn't mention closets..... If they take the time to list multiple areas but neglect to mention a closet, then what do you do? Guess? :grin:

I know this is all rather mundane stuff, but thanks for answering none-the-less!

Then what does it say? It says what it says. So if you want to know what it says, stop trying to remember what it says, and don?t ask anyone else. Go back and read it, and pay attention as though you were reading it for the first time.
