My question pertains to Annunciators.
Since annunciators use field contact voltage for the alarm contacts, which is derived from incoming power (normally 125VDC or 120VAC), would the alarm contact wiring be considered class 1 wiring? (NEC 725.48)
The alarm contacts in an annunciator are not going to be effected by other circuits causing noise, these signals are either on or off.
If the alarm contacts are class 1, wouldn't the classification break down when wired to the equipment to be monitored which has a separate power source, especially since the FCV is derived back at the annunciator?
