Class 1, Div 1 Zone Equipment Installation and Certification Requirements for Mexico

What are the ordering requirements for electrtical equipment being placed in a Class 1, Div 1 Zone in Mexico and writen certifcation requirements for proper installation verification?

Mexico has its own code. It is largely, although not exclusively the NEC in Spanish. I’m not sure which edition they are currently using. It is usually one cycle behind.

Mexico generally recognizes US NRTL equipment/material certifications. It is rare, but possible, that a design that is acceptable in the United States, would not be acceptable in Mexico.

Be careful - do not mix NEC Division and Zone philosophies; they are not entirely compatible.
