Class 1 Div 2 area seal-offs

Mech Contractor has installed open/close indicating devices Class 1 Div 1,2 with a label that says a seal-off is required within 18". This device is installed in a Class 1 Div 2 area with a 4-20ma signal across the contacts for status only. Do I need a seal-off? Multiple devices installed at facility with NO seal-offs installed, what am I missing? Thanks MGE

Unless you are dealing with a nonincendive or intrisically safe installation, you definitely need a seal.
Do the other devices happen to indicate they are factory sealed?

Edit Add: Hint; a nonincendive or intrisically safe installation will have a manufacturer's control drawing.
