We have a Class 1 Div 2 space with explosion-proof lighting within the space. The adjacent corridor space is not classified.
The idea is to have the lighting controlled by a relay panel in the corridor and then low voltage switches sit in the corridor outside the door to the classified room and connect directly to the relay panel.
My understanding is this is all code compliant. However, I didnt know if there was anything in regards to having the switch need to be located within the hazardous room. Both for manual use if needed and that someone in the corridor didnt turn off the lights assuming nobody was inside. Any specific sections related to this?
