Re: class 2 definition

I don't have my book handy, but what I recall is "less than 30 volts, less than 1000 VA."

Re: class 2 definition

Code:
Class 2 Circuit. The portion of the wiring system between the load side of a Class 2 power source and the connected equipment.
Due to its power limitations, a Class 2 circuit considers safety from a fire initiation standpoint and provides acceptable protection from electric shock.

Re: class 2 definition

I remember seeing that definition, but it did not help me understand. It defines ?class 2 circuit? by presuming you already know what a ?class 2 power source? is. All they need to add in the 2005 version is a definition of a ?class 2 power source? as ?a source that supplies a class 2 circuit,? and the circular definition will be complete. :D

Re: class 2 definition

Thanks for your help, but I have another quick question for you. Is class 2 a UL or NEC standard?
